March 23rd, 2014 - I-75 Motor Speedway Update
Due to inclement weather and equipment failure this winter our opening date is being pushed back four to six weeks. We have been working on the track and surrounding facilities this weekend and look forward to a Spring opening soon. Please check back often for the latest updates.

December 28th, 2013 - Rally Cross Booked at I-75 Motor Speedway on January 26th
1I-75 Motor Speedway will host the East Tennessee Region Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Rallycross on Sunday, January 26th, 2014.

Gates open at 8 a.m. with registration closing at 9:45 a.m. A driver's meeting will follow immediately as well as a parade lap to allow everyone to familiarize themselves with the course.

Drivers are broken into two groups and when they are not driving they will be working the course. Each group gets four laps each before a 30 minute break is taken for lunch. During the lunch the course will be reversed or redone t and then each group gets four more laps. All 8 laps count and add up to a driver's total time, and the driver with the fastest time in their class wins a t shirt.

Nine classes will be in action including Stock FWD, RWD, AWD, Prepared FWD, Prepared RWD, Prepared AWD, Modified FWD, Modified RWD, and Modified AWD, which is the anything goes class. All cars must have seat belts and battery tie downs along with good windshields, window nets, or side windows utilized.

The course is created so that anyone can run what they brung with the exception of tall top heavy vehicles with narrow wheel bases like a Ford Explorer. SCCA members are $35 and non-SCCS members are $50 and that includes $15 per driver. Drivers can sign up to be a member on site and get their first race free. December 20th, 2013 - I-75 Motor Speedway Prepares to Return to Life in 2014
Formerly known as Murphy Speedway, I-75 Motor Speedway will be reopening in 2014 with a new look and new promoters. The track, which is located near Sweetwater, Tennessee, was recently acquired by a new ownership group, headlined by Doug Sopha and Monty Morrow. (Photo courtesy of InsideDirtRacing.com)

Originally built in 2004, the track is currently being shortened from a 5/8 mile oval to a 1/3 mile oval to be more racer and fan friendly.

Weather will clearly dictate how quickly the work can be completed, and when the track will be able to open. However, officials with the facility have tentatively scheduled Saturday, March 29th, 2014 as an open practice date with Friday, April 4th, 2014 tabbed as the Grand Reopening. More Events will soon be added to the 2014 docket.

Weekly divisions currently include the Late Model, Sportsman, B-Hobby, Pony, and Jr. Hornet divisions with more classes expected to be added throughout the season. Rules are now posted for the aforementioned divisions.

Please check back often as more news is released and more content is added to the website.
